Steven L. Jones, Ph.D.

Steven Jones is Associate Professor of Sociology at Grove City College, where he has taught since 2004. He is the coach of the College’s nationally recognized debate team and the director of the Koch Fellows program at Grove City College. Prior to arriving in Grove City he was associate director of the Pew Research Center on Religion and Democracy at the University of Virginia and a Fellow at the Institute for Advanced Studies in Culture in Charlottesville, Virginia. He has also received fellowships from the Center for Children, Families, and the Law and the Civitas Forum.
He is the co-editor of the three volume Church and State in America Today Perspectives Series put out by Praeger Press, and the author of Religious Schooling in America: Private Education and Public Life, also with Praeger Press. His essays have appeared in several journals and reference works, including the award-winning Hedgehog Review, an interdisciplinary academic journal published by the Institute for Advanced Studies in Culture.
His current research project focuses on the intersection between parental freedoms, children’s rights/interests, and advances in genetic or psychopharmacological treatments. He lives in Grove City with his wife and four children.
