Headline:
THE MOST IMPORTANT CONFERENCE OF THE YEAR: The Center for Vision & Values at Grove City College will host a conference titled, “Mr. Jefferson Goes to the Middle East: Democracy's Prospects in the Arab World.” We hope to see you in April for this timely opportunity.
Event Description:
The two-day blockbuster conference will focus on arguably the most important international issue today: the effort to spread democracy into the Arab-Muslim Middle East, and its long-term prospects. The Bush administration believes that success in this effort will be fundamental to a peaceful world and to ultimate victory in the War on Terror. Nations of special interest in this effort include not just Iraq and Afghanistan but Saudi Arabia and even the Palestinian state. Indeed, developments in the Arab world have been so dramatic that Egypt and Syria could dominate our 2006 conference as much as Iraq. The Center for Vision & Values at Grove City College has assembled several of the nation’s leading scholars and commentators on these issues, such as: Michael Medved, Michael Novak, Paul Kengor, Jerry Bowyer, Michelle Bernard, Paul Marshall, Ralph Peters, Sherifa Zuhur and Joseph Kickasola.
Date & Time:
April 5th-6th, 2006
Day One will begin at 8:45 AM on Wednesday, April 5, and conclude after a keynote lecture which begins at 7:00 PM.
Day Two will begin at 8:00 AM on Thursday, April 6, with the conference drawing to a close following a keynote lecture which begins at 7:00 PM.
